Continuity Is Part Of Security — And Ledger Is Still Here

A hardware wallet is not just a chip in a box. It is also the company behind it: firmware updates, support when something goes wrong, documentation for backup and restore, and a clear path to replace a device if needed.

That continuity is one of the strongest reasons buyers still consider Ledger, even after a difficult year.

Millions of crypto users already rely on Ledger, and that scale means the ecosystem is widely supported — by Ledger Wallet, by exchanges, and by apps that already know how to work with Ledger signers.

A buyer is not starting from scratch with an unknown brand.

They are joining a system with years of use, testing, and ongoing development.

The October 2026 tampered-device incident is part of that story too, and it should not be hidden.

Ledger said the confirmed cases traced to a reseller channel, and it tightened retailer rules afterward, including no restocking of returned devices and controlled storage.

For a careful buyer, the lesson is clear: buy direct from Ledger, inspect the device, and follow the official setup steps.

No device can guarantee safety, and no brand should be trusted blindly.

But for many buyers, a well-supported signer with a long track record, active updates, and a backup plan is more reassuring than a device from a company that might not be there when help is needed.
